Jonathan Fascitelli Talks Sports Real Estate’s AI-Driven Boom on Bloomberg Surveillance

Scroll

Seregh Founder & Chairman Jonathan Fascitelli joined Tom Keene and Damian Sassower on Bloomberg Surveillance to discuss the boom in sports and entertainment real estate, framing it as a byproduct of the AI-driven shift toward an “experiential economy.”

Fascitelli pointed to venues as the new anchor for mixed-use development, driving foot traffic that in turn draws restaurants, retail, and residential growth around them, and discussed how team owners and governments globally, from the U.S. to Saudi Arabia’s World Cup preparations, are increasingly building master-planned districts around stadiums rather than standalone venues. He also touched on the growing role of public-private partnerships in funding these projects at scale.

Fascitelli described the shift as “a derivative of kind of AI and AI investment,” arguing that as automation shortens work weeks, people will need new ways to fill their time, driving demand for leisure and entertainment. As he put it, “we’re entering an experiential economy.”
